The purpose of this website is to provide the public with information on visitation rules for inmates currently under the custody of the Kane County Jail.

KANE COUNTY JAIL VISITATION RULES

1.         Any person who has criminal charges pending in any court in Kane County will not be allowed to visit any inmate.
 
2.         Any person who is on probation from any court or through AP&P will not be allowed to visit any inmate.
 
3.         Visiting is a privilege. This privilege applies to both inmate and visitor. This privilege can be revoked for any inappropriate activities or       rule violations by either party. Depending on the circumstance, the revocation could be permanent.
 
4.         Onsite visiting days and times for the Kane County Jail are:
 
            Every day from 9:00am to 12:00 pm (Noon)
            Every day from 1:00pm to 5:00pm
            Every day from 6:00pm to 10:00 pm
            No visits allowed during meal times.
 
5.         Visiting times are subject to change.
 
6.         Visits are limited to fifteen (15) minutes depending on the number of visitors.
 
7.         Only persons on the inmate’s “approved visitor list” will be allowed to visit.
 
8.         Onsite visitors are limited to one (1) visit per visiting day.
 
9.         Items brought in for the inmate from visitors, except money, will not be accepted unless approved in writing by the jail administration.
 
10.       No one under the age of 18 years will be allowed to visit unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
 
11.       Visits will take place using the jail’s video visitation system.
 
12.       Visitors are to be modestly dressed. If dressed in revealing clothing, the visitor may not be allowed to visit.
 
13.       Attorneys, bail bondsman, and designated others may be allowed a barrier visit depending on circumstance.
 
14.       Contact visits are not allowed except under very limited circumstances and approved by the jail administration (Sgt. or above).
 
15.       Only one (1) inmate and two (2) visitors at one time will be allowed at the visiting stations without prior approval of the jail staff.
  
16.       No food, drinks, smoking or electronic devices are allowed in the visitation room. See rule #3.
