Welcome to the Kane County Jail Website
The Kane County Jail serves the citizens of Kane County by maintaining a fair, humane and secure environment for all inmates in our facility. Kane County staff will continue to serve the Kane County by maintaining the highest level of professional and moral character. The county jail is usually the first step in the criminal justice process. When a person is arrested, they are brought to jail where they are booked in the facility on criminal charges. The booking process involves gathering basic personal information from the arrestee, fingerprints, and photos. Bail is set within 24 hours of the time of arrest, by a magistrate. Sometimes arrestees are held without bail, other times they are assessed a cash bail, or they are release on pretrial conditions. |
