Patrol is the backbone of the Sheriff's Office and is the agency's largest department and the most visible. All deputies with Kane County Sheriff's Office begin their career in the patrol division. Deputies provide initial response to all calls for service emergency and non-emergency they are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year through out Kane County.
In addition the patrol division processes all civil process, court security, traffic violations, enforce state,federal and local laws .They are courteous professionals who are committed to our agency’s community oriented policing philosophy. Kane County K9 UnitK-9 Jet and K-9 KC
Kane County Sheriff’s Office exceeds the standard with two very well trained K-9’s and handlers. Deputy Gray deploys K-9 Jet. Jet is certified in Human searches, drug detection, and Apprehension, Deputy Doss deploys K-9 KC. KC is certified as a passive indicator in Human searches, drug detection, apprehension. S.W.A.T:
Kane County Sheriff’s Office Staffs a specialty trained and well equipped, well-regulated unit for the extraordinary circumstances that may arise in spite of exhausting our efforts in preventing any major events. SWAT is a designated group of law enforcement professionals who are selected, trained and equipped to work as a coordinated team to resolve critical incidents that are hazardous, complex, or unusual that they may exceed the capabilities of first responders. The primary mission of the SWAT Team is the protection of life and a peaceful resolution of high risk situations. The Kane County Sheriff’s Tactical Tracking Team
(KCTTT) The Kane County Sheriff's Office Tactical Tracking Team was developed after the 1998 Four Corners Shooting in which a Cortez CO Officer was killed and a San Juan County Deputy was wounded. In 2004 the Team developed a tracking class, it's alumni list includes students from the US Marshal’s Office, DEA, FBI, US Border Patrol, BIA Law Enforcement, National Park Service, and numerous state, county & local agencies from Utah, Arizona, California, Montana, Nevada, Texas, Idaho, Colorado & Minnesota. |
Major Crimes and Drug Task ForceKane County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes and Drug Task Force work with and assists the agencies within it's jurisdiction and surrounding area.
These agencies rely on our Task Force for valuable technical assistance, equipment, experience and specialized training in detection and deception of various criminal activities. Kane County Sheriff’s Office employs detectives who work together to comprise our Task Force, which investigates all major crimes within Kane County. Our Detectives have experience, Equipment, team resources, and outsources in place for the many diversified types of offenses that can and do occur. School Resource Officers:
Kane County Sheriff’s Office employ’s two full time School Resource Officers, Deputy Smith and Deputy Willis. With their primary focus being on Student safety, they do also teach a law enforcement class, investigate incidents, mentor the youth, and continue to monitor and advise on fortifying vulnerabilities. The total area of Lake Powell is some 254 square miles of water and 1,900 miles of shore. Estimates are that around two million people visit the area each year to enjoy hiking, boating, water sports, fishing, and camping. The large number of people on the lake creates a need for proactive boating safety outreach and enforcement. |
